1   The train of life is rollin’, down along the track
You've got a one way ticket so don't go lookin' back
Your final destination is up around the bend
And there's so much to see and do before your journey ends
You're on the train, to be precise, you're on the train, The Train of Life!

2    Now ‘The Railroad' isn’t partial, anyone can ride
But look out for those 'passengers' 'Jealousy' and 'Pride'
You'll find them in the company of 'Cunning', 'Hate' and 'Greed’
And if you spend your time with them, you'll be sad indeed!
So use your brain, avoid the strife, your on the train, The Train of Life!

3    Now there are many stations down along the line,
Where you can just indulge yourself, an' kill a little time
But in those cities called 'Abuse', 'Gamble' and 'Desire
There's graveyards full of passengers who left to play with fire
Avoid the pain, avoid the vice, stay on the train, The Train of Life!

4    Now the 'Owner of the Railroad', he knows a thing or two
He knows that you may go astray as people often do
But he'll just forgive you if you learn the Golden Rule
‘Always do to others as you'd have them do to you'
He makes it plain, if you are nice. He'll let you ride, The Train of Life!

5 Now if you carry 'baggage', one thing is for sure
The more you take, the less you sleep, its a universal law
So whether it's possessions, or memories of the past
Keep it to the minimum and you will travel fast
Avoid the strain, and travel light, you're on the train, The Train of Life!

6    Now the 'Owner' makes an offer, to every single one
A ticket thru' to Paradise, paid for by the Son, and
You can book a ticket, if you apply yourself,
And check the information in the 'Handbook' on your shelf
The greatest name, the greatest 'price', Eternal life in Paradise, Hallelujah!

7 Now time just seems to fly by as your journey nears its end
And you look and you look at all those empty seats of family and friends
But they are only sleeping in the back end of the train
So when you get to Paradise you'll meet 'em all again
Without the pain, without the strife, aboard the train of 'Perfect life'!
